School Curriculum

At Ingle Farm Primary School, Health & Physical Education, Science and Arts learning areas are supported by school-based specialist teachers.

How is the curriculum organised?

• Yearly Progression: The curriculum is structured by year level, so students build on their learning as they move through school
• Achievement Standards: Teachers use clear standards to track and report on each child’s progress, helping them provide support or extension where needed
• Inclusion: Schools adapt learning activities to ensure every child can participate and thrive, recognising that every learner is unique

The SA Curriculum describes what students will understand, be able to do and be as a result of their learning. The framework outlines the essential knowledge, capabilities and dispositions in each learning area. The learning standards bring these elements together by describing what students need to demonstrate.

The SA Curriculum defines the essential learning for all students, valuing the dispositions, capabilities and understandings that help them learn and thrive at school and throughout their lives.

For example, learning mathematics is more than recalling facts and formulas. A positive disposition toward maths, combined with reasoning and problem?solving, helps students apply their knowledge to unfamiliar situations. Knowledge alone isn’t enough; students need the confidence and capability to use it.
