Health and Physical Education

Learning in Health and Physical Education (HPE) is guided by five key ideas: having a clear purpose, building on students’ strengths, valuing movement, developing health literacy and using critical inquiry. Through play, practice, discussion and reflection, students explore how health, relationships and movement shape their daily lives. They notice patterns, test ideas and consider how their choices affect how they feel, how they move and how others are impacted.

Students take part in purposeful, inclusive movement experiences that build confidence, competence and social connection, supporting lifelong physical activity. They also learn to question and compare health information, analyse influences and make informed decisions about their own wellbeing. As they respond to real?life situations, students develop the skills to act ethically and promote health, safety and physical activity in a rapidly changing world.
