New Arrivals Programme

This program is designed for students newly arrived in Australia.

The program is aimed at helping children learn the English needed for living and studying in Australia. This is achieved through:

• intensive English language support
• bilingual classroom support
• small classes
• involvement in the whole school curriculum

  To be eligible for the program students need to be enrolled within 12 months of arrival in Australia, or 18 months for children entering reception or year 1. Transport assistance is usually available for students living a long distance away from school.
  The students generally stay in the program for up to one year and transition programs are then organised so that they can continue their education at their local school.
